THE PLATFORM

A commercial driver and carrier application portal.

CDLProfile gives commercial drivers a single place to start, save, and return to an application for future opportunities. Carriers have a separate portal for verified access to their applications.

Pascal designed and developed a responsive experience that keeps the next step clear for both audiences without combining their workflows.

THE CHALLENGE

One portal. Two clear paths.

The portal needed to give drivers a straightforward way to begin with a carrier USDOT number, save progress, and return later while giving carriers their own verification and application-review entry point.

Drivers need to know how to begin and what information to have ready without facing a crowded or ambiguous starting point.

Carriers need a direct path that keeps their access separate from the driver application experience.

03

THE APPROACH

Design around the next useful action.

The information architecture puts the most useful action for each visitor at the front of the experience.

  1. 01

Make the driver and carrier paths distinct from the first visit.

  2. 02

Keep application, saved-progress, and status actions easy to find.

  3. 03

Guide drivers through a focused, section-by-section application flow.

  4. 04

Maintain the same priorities across desktop and mobile screens.

04

DRIVER EXPERIENCE

Start, save, and return with confidence.

The public homepage makes it clear that drivers can start an application, continue a saved application, or check their application status without searching through carrier-only content.

CARRIER ACCESS

A separate entry point for carrier workflows.

The carrier portal asks carriers to identify their USDOT and use the email on their FMCSA company record before moving into their access flow.

  • Separate driver and carrier entry points
  • Clear carrier verification context
  • Direct access to carrier application workflows
  • A consistent portal hierarchy

MOBILE EXPERIENCE

The same application priorities on a smaller screen.

The mobile presentation preserves the core actions for drivers and carriers while keeping the application portal easy to scan on the go.

  • Visible application and saved-progress actions
  • Distinct driver and carrier paths
  • Readable step-by-step context
  • Responsive portal navigation
07

THE RESULT

A focused portal for application workflows.

The finished portal gives drivers and carriers a clear path into their respective application workflows from desktop or mobile.
